Lake Macquarie: Exclusive Use this Saturday

Roads and Maritime Services has granted an exclusive use aquatic licence for the safe staging of a swim event this Saturday (25 February).

Maritime Regional Manager Hunter/ Inland Sonia McKay said boaters should keep clear of the area around a perimeter about 100 metres from swimmers between Coal Point (Wombal Park) and Belmont 16ft Sailing Club from 8.30am to 10.30am.

“This area will be used exclusively for the safe staging of a swim event for the Swansea Belmont Surf Life Saving Club,” Ms McKay said.

“For safety reasons, skippers should keep clear of this area as it will be restricted for the event and patrolled by control vessels.”

Ms McKay said unauthorised vessels would not be permitted to enter the exclusive use area unless authorised by event organisers, a Maritime Boating Safety Officer or a Police Officer.
