Mapping ActivitiesThe main function of the Spatial Information Section is to support all of the mapping and plan drawing requirements of the Authority. This includes the collection, processing, maintenance and distribution of spatial information relating to:
View samples of the Authority's spatial data, or hydrographic charts. In addition to the digital database the Spatial Information Section also has an archive of historical information containing early plans, aerial photographs and records of Sydney Harbour. Products for saleMost of the mapping that is produced from the spatial database is used for internal purposes. Some products, however, are available for sale to the general public, including: Boating Maps: A series of maps covering the coast of NSW that provide boating and safety information. The maps are available for purchase from any NSW Maritime office or by mail order. Follow the link to view samples and order boating maps. Foreshore detail plans: A series of maps produced at a scale of 1:500 that show detailed information of all marine structures located on Sydney Harbour. View a sample of foreshore detail plan.
