Requirements for waterski vesselsClass 2D and Class 2E commercial waterski vessels do not require a survey certificate. The master of the vessel requires only a valid general boat licence or personal watercraft driving licence if the vessel is operated at 10 knots or more. Section 18 of the Marine Safety Act 1998 and Clauses 72-74 of the Marine Safety (General) Regulation 2009 specify the requirements relating to aquatic licences. Operators should also check that they have the permission of any landowners whose land they might want to use or access, and that their proposed activities do not contravene any requirements of their local Council, the Local Government Act 1993, or the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 or any environmental planning instrument in force under that Act.
