Vessel design compliance assessment aids
As part of the process to help vessel builders and designers achieve design compliance with the USL code NSW Maritime has developed a series of vessel design compliance aids. These aids provide users the means to enter the details of a design and check for compliance guidelines against the requirements of the relevant standards. Whilst the tools are not intended to be used as design tools they provide a means by which a designer could vary input parameters to alter a non compliant design. Computer system requirementsPlease right click on desired link and select "save target as" to download file to your computer. Once downloaded open file using Microsoft Excel. Clicking on the web page link directly will open the file within a browser. This will disable some of the functions on the aids. Full functionality of these design compliance aids will require Microsoft Excel's security levels set at low or medium. If security settings are medium then the “enable macro” option will need to be chosen upon opening of any of the compliance aids. Please also note that these complaince aids have been designed for use with Microsoft Excel and will function only on computers with Microsoft Excel installed. Submission by email to commvess.plansubmissions@maritime.nsw.gov.au of electronic vessel plans accompanied by a set of completed output files from the design compliance aids will help NSW Maritime in reducing design assessment turnaround times.
