About Roads and Maritime Services
From 1 November 2011, Roads and Maritime Services commenced operations. NSW Maritime is a Division of Roads and Maritime Services.
- The NSW Maritime Division is responsible for marine safety, regulation of commercial and recreational boating. This Division is responsible for boating safety for 2,137 km of coastline and 32,424 km2 of navigable waterways across NSW. This includes 5,000 km2 enclosed waters, and 27,691 km2 of coastal waters to 12 nautical miles, 20,000 moorings, and more than 3,418 aids to navigation on NSW waterways.. The Division supports more than 450,000 recreational licenceholders, and more than 240,000 registered recreational vessels.
