About NSW Maritime
NSW Maritime is the State Government Authority responsible for marine safety, regulation of commercial and recreational boating and oversight of port operations. The Authority is also responsible for property management of submerged lands in Sydney Harbour, Newcastle Harbour, Botany Bay and Port Kembla, and for providing strategic advice on ports and maritime matters to the NSW Government.
NSW Maritime was created in 2004, replacing the Waterways Authority and the Marine Ministerial Holding Corporation.

Corporate Structure
NSW Maritime is headed by a Chief Executive with responsibility for the agency’s overall performance and ensuring its operations meet legislative requirements.
The agency has six divisions:
NSW Maritime is self-funding with an annual operating budget in excess of $100 million. It employs approximately 375 staff in 33 offices in urban, regional and rural NSW.

Code of Conduct and Ethics
NSW Maritime staff are committed to the highest standards of professionalism and integrity and this should be evident in every interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
NSW Maritime operates under a Code of Conduct and Ethics which incorporates recommendations from a Corruption Resistance Review conducted by the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC).
The Code of Conduct and Ethics sets out the expected standard of workplace behaviour and service standards for all NSW Maritime employees.

Disability Action Plan
NSW Maritime operates under a Disability Action Plan, with a focus on the following actions:
- Accessibility for people with disabilities during the earliest stages of infrastructure project planning.
- Accessibility needs for people with disabilities to ferry wharves and similar maritime facilities.
- Incorporating disability awareness training in the induction program for all new employees.

Corporate Planning
