Offers of replacement domestic leases

This provision applies from 15 August 2011 for existing domestic waterfront tenants who have a current valid tenancy agreement with Maritime.

While the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) review is underway, and until such time that the government has considered and implemented the outcomes of the review, Maritime is prepared to defer the signing of new replacement leases and allow occupations to continue under the hold-over provision of existing tenancies.

However, for those tenants who are seeking certainty about concerns that lease provisions contained in new leases will be locked in for the term of the lease, the Minister for Roads and Ports has given an assurance that should the provisions of any newly executed leases be affected by the outcomes of the IPART review, Maritime will agree to a ‘deed of variation’ to the lease to incorporate any required changes.

For information about the IPART review please refer to the main domestic leasing webpage.
