Mapping Activities

Navigation AidThe main function of the Spatial Information Section is to support all of the mapping and plan drawing requirements of Maritime. This includes the collection and maintenance of geospatial information relating to:

  • Leases of structures located on land owned by Maritime
  • Assets owned by Maritime
  • Navigation aids and boating facilities throughout NSW
  • Moorings throughout NSW
  • Water depths (contours and soundings) in Sydney Harbour and some other waterways in NSW.

In addition to the spatial database, the Spatial Information Section also has an archive of historical information containing early plans, aerial photographs and records of Sydney Harbour.
