NAVIGATION WARNING

Port Hacking

Shoaling Danger

Boating Season 2011-2012

 

Vessel operators are advised to proceed with caution when navigating the channel known as the ‘Mad Mile’, Port Hacking due to severe shoaling.

The navigation channel known as the ‘Mad Mile’ Port Hacking is described as commencing at Hungry Point in the east and continuing through to Gogerleys Point in the west. 

Particular areas of concern are in the vicinities of Deeban Spit to Turriel Point (also known as Shiprock Reserve) and Gogerleys Point.

Deep draft vessels should plan their voyage to coincide with the high tide.
