NAVIGATION WARNING

(Marine Safety Act 1998 s.12)

Ghinni Ghinni Creek, Taree

Hazard to Navigation

November 2011

Vessel operators are advised that the above waterway is no longer safe for navigation due to a total blockage. A large Morton Bay Fig tree has fallen across Ghinni Ghinni Creek approximately 1.5km south of the confluence of the Lansdowne River, and the Creek is now impassable on all tides.

As a result and in the interests of public safety, a temporary navigational marker and warning signs have been installed.

Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) advises that the Creek is now considered unsafe for navigation.

RMS advises that extreme caution should be exercised at all times by vessel operators using this area until the hazard has been removed or the area returned to being a safe waterway.
