Traineeships
NSW Maritime supports a number of traineeships in Business Administration for both indigenous and non-indigenous applicants. These traineeships are offered in both Sydney and Regional offices and involve a combination of both on and off the job structured training.
Our traineeships are offered for a period of twelve months and provide the trainee with supervised on the job training and experience in administration, and customer service including word processing, cash handling, banking, filing, mail processing, faxing, photocopying, answering counter and telephone enquiries.
The ideal candidate for a traineeship is someone who has a keen willingness to learn new concepts as well as someone who has the ability to communicate with our customers.
We advertise our traineeship vacancies once a year from February/March onwards.
The selection criteria for the traineeship are:
- Willingness and commitment to undertake a Business (Office Administration) traineeship for 12 months.
- A positive attitude and ability to relate to other people and to work cooperatively as a member of a team.
- Ability to undertake general administrative tasks.
- Commitment to customer service principles.
- An understanding and ability to use computers.
- Good communication and organisational skills
