Boating Plans

Boating Plans are designed to:

  • Ensure that boating practices maximise user safety, enjoyment, public safety and amenity
  • Consider the needs of shore-based estuary users as well as boating-based activities
  • Review shore-based boating-related facilities or infrastructure such as launching ramps
  • Where appropriate, assist agencies with core responsibility for environmental protection and sustainability to implement programs and initiatives.
  • Provide a framework for consultation

Safe Boating Plans are a guide to shared use and access to a particular waterway to the benefit of recreational and commercial users alike. Safe Boating Plans are designed to be responsive to changing conditions and boating patterns.
